Topic 1

1) Internet risks – give examples of four things that can go wrong with a transactional site?

- Fraudulent ads (ex : on gumtree, we faced this problem, people put fake pics of an apartment and say they're overseas, so to get the key of the place you have to send a deposit by wester union...no track of the transaction and your money is in some else pocket...)

- Children accessing the site and making a transaction (ex: once, a child bought a castle on the auction site ebay for 1 million dollars)

- Bank block your account ( the transaction you've made can look weird according to your bank adviser, so they'll block instantaneously your bank account)

- Hackers ( some hackers can get to your own account and use it very easily...)

8) Write a a paragraph or two describing the current importance of ICT in your professional life.

In my everyday life, the use of ICT is very important, im a children of the Y generation and the ICT became an everyday life tool as I grew up.

I use my iPhone not only for calling and texting but also for the internet access.
If I get lost in the street, I will automatically take my iPhone out of my pocket to locate me and find my way home.
Otherwise I also use it when I need a quick answer to a question, whatever the question is...i google it !

I go on the Internet everyday, and feel frustrated when I can't access it...for example I just moved in a flatshare but they don't have the internet...How am i going to watch my favorite tv shows without streaming or being able to download it ?!

Moreover, the development of applications that are stored in the Apple store just keep me connected all day long because Im going on facebook to check the last notifications i have on my account, update my status or send a picture from the place I am.
I also love the application foursquare which is a geolocalisation app' so i can let people know where I am in real time and give tips about the place.
I like memorable meals, an app' in which you store all the good meals you had by taking a picture and adding notes about it.
There is also the very practical app' of the metlink company that allowed you to know in real time when the train ,tram or buses are coming...

So as you can see, I am always connected and I love it, my digital identity is part of me now.

To conclude, here's a funny tweet I catched on the Mx this week about the earthquake in Japan, Im sure you'll find it funny ! It shows how people are now obsessed and addicted to Twitter !

See you on the next topic !
